Huge congratulations to XO Brass artist Conner Eisenmenger on his new role as trombone professor at Western Washington University this fall! 🎶👏 #xobrass
XO Brass Instruments is proud to welcome trombonist, composer, and arranger Emily “Freddie” Fredrickson to its artist roster. A dynamic force in the Broadway, jazz, and orchestral worlds, Fredrickson’s artistry and versatility exemplify XO’s commitment to innovative and expressive musicianship.
Hailing from Clearwater, Florida, Fredrickson has made a name for herself as a standout soloist and in-demand collaborator. She has been the featured trombonist in the first touring production of, and current Broadway sub for the Tony and Grammy Award-winning musical Hadestown. Beyond performance, she has arranged and orchestrated over 200 works for big band and orchestra. Fredrickson’s passion for education and advocacy in the arts has led her to key roles in nonprofit programming and music education. She currently directs the Dee Dee Bridgewater Big Band, leads the Jazz Workshop Ensemble for the High School Jazz Academy at Jazz at Lincoln Center, and serves as brass faculty at the Calhoun School. Her impressive collaborations include working as a performer and arranger with Tony and Grammy winners such as Dee Dee Bridgewater, Aaron Neville, CeeLo Green, Allen Toussaint, Kurt Elling, Ledisi, Eric Benét, and Kermit Ruffins.
Reflecting on her admiration for XO Brass Instruments, Fredrickson shared, "After being reluctant to switch from vintage horns for my entire career, I've finally found a modern solution that has the care and specificity I've been looking for with XO. The 1634LT has added so much ease to my playing, my only regret is not switching sooner. The 1240RL has made my journey back to bass trombone so much more comfortable and manageable as a person with smaller hands. Both horns have opened up so many possibilities for me and my career."
