Brad Magers studied Trumpet at the University of Louisville 1999-03. During his college career, he served as one of two Buglers at Churchill Downs. After college, Magers set out on tour and over the years has played with a number of bands. Currently, he plays trumpet in Mariachi El Bronx as well as playing bass in The Bronx and Pounded By The Surf. Over the years Magers has also done session horn work with numerous bands, most notably with Train, The Killers, etc.
After a nearly two-year, unplanned hiatus as a result of the pandemic wreaking havoc on the entertainment industry, Mariachi El Bronx returned to energetic crowds this winter, in both NY & CA. In honor of last fall's 10-year anniversary of the release of 2011’s eponymously named studio album, Mariachi el Bronx (II), they have pressed a limited run of special picture disc vinyl. 2022 holds promise for some early moves in the songwriting process and an eventual return to the recording studio for another effort from the band.
