Sean McKenna is a drummer out of Nova Scotia Canada who has been a steady veteran of the Eastern Canadian music scene for decades. Sean has played with a vast multitude of bands over the years, most recently with The Frequency and Side Hustle.
Having played on most every brand of drum kit since he was a youngster, Sean will tell you he is most overjoyed with the Mapex kits he owns. Sean gigs and records regularly on his Mars Birch kit and recently procured his double bass dream kit which is a Mapex Saturn Evolution in Exotic Azure Burst. He is also extremely partial to his Black Panther Sledgehammer snare drum.
Sean hosted a radio sports show for a while but in 2020, which seemed to be the time the world was made to stand still, stress and anxiety were at an all time high and there were no sports taking place. Being a musician at heart and always thinking about new opportunities, he made the next logical step to begin interviewing his peers in the music world. With what was meant to be a small project to fill time and lift spirits, it soon grew into the, now 30,000 member strong platform called Barstools and Bandtalk.
Sean then decided to expand further with Rimshots with Sean, an evolution and spin off of Barstools and Bandtalk, and now 5 years later has conducted more than 700 interviews. With views and interactions in 22 countries, he has solidified a thriving home base of music and positivity. Sean has strong ties to record labels in the United States who enjoy and rely on his bold and dynamic interview style. Growing ever still, he has since gotten a Friday night television show on Eastlink TV and recently secured a radio show on Rock Rage Radio.
