Dr. John Jenkins is an active performer, conductor, and educator, and serves as Chairman of the Music Department at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK. As an in-demand musician, he performs frequently with various orchestras, big bands, and chamber ensembles throughout the northeast Oklahoma area, and has shared the stage with the likes of Josh Groban, Idina Menzel, Randy Brecker, Peter Gabriel, Ricky Minor, and many others. Additionally, he's often called upon to serve as a guest clinician and adjudicator. Dr. Jenkins earned his B.A. in Music at Mercer University studying with CMSgt F. Charles Anderson, his M.M. (as Graduate Teaching Assistant) from the University of Florida where he studied with the late Dr. Art Jennings, and his D.M.A. from the Conservatory of Music and Dance at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where he studied with Dr. JoDee Davis. He has had additional studies with Dr. Joel Pugh and Ilan Morgenstern. He is happily married to his wife, Tricia Jenkins, who serves as organist and traditional music director at a church in south Tulsa.
