Tony started his musical career immediately after his father introduced him to the trumpet at the age of 9. By the age of 11, he was playing in weekend bands and studying under Canada’s premier trumpet teacher, Dr. Don Johnson. By the age of 15, Tony was a regular in Toronto’s local musical theater scene, performing in such shows as “West Side Story”, “Pajama Game”, “A little Night Music” and was also playing with Canada’s Youth Orchestra. At the age of 18, he entered Humber College to study music full time and graduated with honors. After college, he quickly became an integral part of the studio and TV Scene in Toronto as one of the top Trumpet calls.
Working regularly on Canada’s CBC Television Station in the 80’s, Tony played with such artists as Cory Hart, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Frozen Ghost, Percy Sledge, The Drifters, Sam and Dave, The Spoons, Zappa Costa, Rita McNeil, and Don Rickles. Recently tony just performed with Paul Anka at Ted Rogers 75th Birthday Bash.
Tony’s latest project is a Solo Album of original music called AMAROSA that is now being played on radio stations in over 25 countries around the world. The CD has received critical acclaim and one of the tracks named “Watch What Doesn’t Happen” is in the finals for best Instrumental composition in the International Song Contest out of NY City.
Tony now heads Brass Transit (Worlds best Chicago Tribute) and tours the US 75 dates a year or more.
Tony is also co-founder of the Tower of Power tribute band Oakland Stroke.
