Alan Blanchard is a rising trumpeter in today’s jazz scene. With the guidance of musicians such as Scotty Barnhart, Leon Anderson, and Nick Finzer, Blanchard’s playing is known for its warm sound strongly rooted in the jazz tradition. In 2018, Alan was selected as a member of the Jazz Aspen Snowmass Academy Big Band Sessions under the direction of Christian McBride, a full-scholarship week-long summer intensive program. Recently he was selected as a 2019 Fellow with Ravinia’s Steans Music Institute.

Blanchard has not only received recognition for his playing, but also his teaching. Graduating with his MM in Jazz Studies from Florida State University, Blanchard maintains a private studio and often works with local schools, camps, and honor bands as a clinician. Blanchard also serves as Project Manager with Outside in Music, a record label and media company, based out of New York, NY.
